Event: Day Workshop: Welcoming the Soul in Community.

Time: Registration: 9.30am-10am. Day Workshop: 10am-5pm.
Event Description: Many of us feel at a loss to find meaning and joy in our lives when so much around us is in a stage of great fragility: our families, communities, workplaces, and the world as a whole. Living in a society that thrives on noise and speed, we struggle to find inner clarity on where to go next. We are very confused. In response, we yearn to come closer to our soul, the part of us that combines both essence and truth, with the hope to uncover directions to live life with more integrity. Through this day retreat and with the help of poetry, silence and community, we will aim to create a welcoming and nurturing space for the soul. This work is inspired by the writings of Parker Palmer, an American Quaker, author and educator (www.couragerenewal.org).

Vérène Nicolas is a facilitator and retreat leader. She works with leaders in organisations and communities in Scotland and abroad. She is currently delivering a mentoring and training programme for teams working in the Church of Scotland’s most marginalised parishes. She is also a community organiser in Govan (Glasgow) where she lives.
